Gabriele Paolo Jewellery - Bespoke fine jewellery & Mokume-gane by Gabriele Gucci
Terms

Terms of sale

Last updated: 23 October 2026

These terms apply when you commission a bespoke piece or buy a ready-to-wear piece from Gabriele Paolo Jewellery, the trading name of Gabriele Gucci, 2 New Cottages, Welton Le Wold, Louth, LN11 0QT. They do not affect your statutory rights.

Bespoke commissions

  1. Proposal. After your consultation we send a written proposal setting out the design, materials and price. Every commission is priced individually.
  2. Deposit. A 50% deposit confirms your commission. The balance is due when your piece is complete and approved, before delivery. We accept bank transfer and card payments.
  3. Design approval. Making begins once you approve the design in writing; email is fine. Changes after approval may affect the price and timescale. For Mokume-gane, the metal composition is fixed once the billet is fused.
  4. Timescales. Lead times are given in good faith, and we will tell you promptly about any delay.
  5. Cancellation. Bespoke pieces are made to your specification, so the 14-day cancellation right for distance sales does not apply. If you cancel after confirming, we refund your deposit less any costs we have already incurred for your commission, such as metal and stones bought for it, and we will show you what has been spent.
  6. Sizing. Please confirm your size carefully before making begins. Mokume-gane can usually only be resized within a small range because of its layered structure.
  7. Natural variation. Mokume-gane is forged by hand, so its pattern, colour and texture will differ from designs, renders and photographs. This is the nature of the technique, not a fault.
  8. Designs. Designs, drawings and CAD files we create remain our intellectual property. Each bespoke design is made for your exclusive use, and we will not reproduce it for another client. You own the finished piece once it is paid for in full.
  9. Your own metal and stones. We assess the suitability of any metal or stones you supply before use, and will explain any risks to you beforehand.
  10. Photography. We may photograph your finished piece for our portfolio, website and social media. We never identify you without your permission. If you would prefer we did not use images of your piece, tell us at any time and we will not.
  11. Designs you supply. If you give us designs, drawings or images to work from, you confirm that you have the right to use them and for us to use them for your commission. We may decline to reproduce another maker's design.

Ready-to-wear pieces

  1. Price. The price shown when you order is the price you pay.
  2. Pricing errors. If we find an error in a price before accepting your order, we will contact you to confirm the correct price or cancel the order. If we find it after accepting your order, we may cancel it and refund you in full.
  3. Your right to cancel. If you buy a piece online or at a distance, you can cancel within 14 days of receiving it without giving a reason. You can use our model cancellation form, but you do not have to. Tell us by email, then return the piece unworn and in its original condition within 14 days. Return postage is your responsibility; we recommend an insured, tracked service. We will refund the price and the standard delivery cost within 14 days of receiving the piece back. If we incur any cost in recovering the piece, it may be deducted from your refund.
  4. Personalised pieces. Engraved or otherwise personalised pieces cannot be cancelled once personalisation has begun.

All orders

  1. Delivery. We deliver to UK addresses only, by insured, tracked courier. Responsibility for the piece passes to you when it is delivered.
  2. Images. Photographs and renders are as accurate as we can make them, but colours and scale can look different on screen, and every handmade piece varies slightly.
  3. Faulty goods. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 apply. If anything is wrong with your piece, contact us and we will repair, replace or refund it as the law requires.
  4. Payment in cash. We do not accept cash payments of €10,000 or more for a single purchase, including payments made in instalments.
  5. Aftercare. Every piece we make comes with lifetime inspections. Your first inspection and refinish within the first year is complimentary; after that, inspections start from £30. Postage to and from the studio is your responsibility.
  6. Hallmarking. See our Hallmarking page.
  7. Complaints. Email info@gabrielegucci.co.uk and we will respond within five working days.
  8. Our liability. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for any business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for your statutory rights.
  9. Events outside our control. We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as illness or supplier and courier delays. If this happens we will tell you promptly and do what we reasonably can to limit the delay.
  10. Changes to these terms. We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force when you place your order applies to that order.
  11. General. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Only you and we can enforce this contract.
  12. Law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
